Al-Sawari Theatre has announced its preparations to organize a theatre week titled “Travel at the Height of Al-Sawari,” featuring three theatrical productions to be staged at the Cultural Hall from September 12 to 19, with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m.

Hussein Al-Oraybi, President of Al-Sawari Theatre, emphasized that this artistic event reflects Al-Sawari Theatre’s longstanding commitment, since its establishment, to advancing the theatrical and intellectual movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain, while presenting contemporary theatrical experiences that engage audiences emotionally and enrich the cultural landscape.

Al-Oraybi explained that the “Travel at the Height of Al-Sawari” program will feature three prominent theatrical productions. The program will open with “The Accidental Guest” (Al-Mad‘u Sudfa), with performances scheduled for September 12 and 13. The play was written by Yousef Al-Hamadani, directed by Ibrahim Al-Mansi, and stars Kamel Al-Busaidi. The production is being restaged in celebration of its remarkable success and its recent recognition with a number of distinguished awards at the Jerash Monodrama Festival.

It will be followed by “Hot Coffee,” presented on September 15 and 16. The play was written by the late Abdullah Al-Saadawi, directed by Ibrahim Khalfan, and stars Mohammed Abdullah and Sodaba Khalifa. During the previous edition of the Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theatre, the production won the Best Actor Award, shared jointly, and was also nominated for the Best Actress Award.

The “Travel at the Height of Al-Sawari” program will conclude with the theatrical production “Chameleon’s Echo,” presented on September 18 and 19. The production, which comes from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will participate as a guest performance in the festival. It was written, directed, and performed by Kamil Al-Ali.

Al-Araybi added: “Through the sequence of these performances, we seek to open new horizons for audiences and express Al-Sawari Theatre’s renewed vision of supporting creative talents and drawing on successful theatrical experiences. We invite all creatives and theatre enthusiasts in Bahrain to attend and take part in this artistic celebration on the stage of the Cultural Hall.
